Snakehead Caught while Tournament Fishing

While out on the Potomac river tournament fishing 1Rod1ReelFishing comes into a huge snakehead. Snakehead if you are not familiar is a invasive species native from Asia. Maryland and Virginia DNR ask anglers to kill any snakeheads caught as they are an invasive species and considered to be harmful to the ecosystems in which they’ve been introduced.

We want everyone to know that we normally support catch and release to preserve the fisheries for everyone to enjoy, by doing the same when killing the snakehead.

Keep those lines tight and practice best practices while out on the lake!
